An issue has been in the news recently which could have amazing repercussions in the world.
A dispute has been playing between Pope Francis & the head of the Knights of Malta, Grand Master Matthew Festing, leading to Festing’s resignation last Wednesday.pope-orb

One of the order’s top knights, Grand Chancellor Albrecht Freiherr von Boeselager, was sacked in December ostensibly because he allowed the distribution of condoms in a medical project to help sex slaves in Myanmar avoid HIV. Festing accused Von Boeslager of trying to hide the fact.
Von Boeslager apparently though was unaware that condoms had been distributed & on finding out had closed two of the three projects involved, leaving one open only because closing it would have abruptly ended all basic medical services to poor people. He appealed to the Pope against his sacking.
The main point about this dispute is Pope Francis’s much more liberal view about contraception. He has said that it is acceptable to use a prophylactic when the sole intention is to “reduce the risk of infection” from Aids & he has argued that using a condom to preserve life and avoid death could be a responsible act – even outside marriage.
Up until now, the Catholic church has completely condemned the use of contraception.
The cracks in this destructive viewpoint are widening.

The Christmas before last, Vivienne had a wish list & on it was “When the Pope agrees to birth control, we end half the world’s problems”
This would have an enormous impact on how women are perceived as well. An incredible amount of violence against women is domestic.
