Commission staff oversees basic training requirements and curriculum for peace officers, private security, local corrections, jail personnel, K-9 units, and humane agents. These standards must be met 120 days prior to an applicant starting any police academy. The course will focus on camera familiarization and improving the quality of crime scene photographs for investigators with minimal or no prior photography knowledge. This course will also include a night driving portion. Students will be working in hands on situations every day, so it is recommended that students have clothing available that are suitable for wear in situations that include casting materials, fingerprint powders and chemicals, etc. Mr. Ryan has over twenty years of crime scene investigative experience and has conducted over 2,000 scene investigations to include hundreds of homicides, death scenes and shooting investigations.
