I live close to downtown, and I'm starting to play enough to where I'm looking into joining some kind of country club (or non-public courseI'm really only interested in the golf) rather than trying to squeeze into a public course and pay $100 for fees every time I play. Some courses offer reduced rates for players of a certain age. All the other clubs close in (Braeburn, River Oaks, HCC, etc) are insanely expensive as well.I'm interested in other peoples solutions, getting pretty tired of the munis in town. I actually like going over to play Sharpstown better then going to MF now at least Sharpstown is cheap. These courses do not require any membership and charge only a modest entry fee, in the same ballpark as what you might pay to go to the zoo or an amusement park. HouNat may be my least favorite course in Houston, running maybe just behind Wildcat Lakes. We just got approval on our new clubhouse, almost 13000 square feet.
