So Shaker Aamer is STILL not out of Guantanamo!
The news was broadcast that he was to be finally released from that lawless dump Guantanamo (which has the gall to have at its gate the proclamation ‘Honor Bound to Defend Freedom’) on the 25th September after 5000 days incarceration without trial.
30 days’ notice was necessary for Congress to ‘process’ him, so he was due out this last Sunday the 25th October….
As usual every Wednesday, 1pm-3pm, the Save Shaker organisation conducted their vigil outside the Houses of Parliament (they have done this now for several years).
The one last week on the 21st we were all hoping would be the last. The BBC2 program Victoria Derbyshire was there filming & they broadcast a report the following morning. See it here.
On the 25th I read the news that he was still in Guantanamo because 3 US Senators were on a ‘fact finding trip’ there (best way for them to do this would be to lock them up for 14 years & bash them up every day as they have done to Shaker)…Excuses, excuses!
An advocacy group reported a day later that Shaker is expected home either by the end of this week or else the beginning of next.

Why are the US authorities dragging their heels & taking so long to release a man who has obviously been found innocent of all allegations against him?
Are they themselves trying to cover up lies & criminal acts that Shaker has been a witness to? …
