Money and Wealth vs. Climate Change – A Synonym: The Koch Brothers
Charles and David H. Koch don’t want you to know the facts about Climate Change – the truth is bad for business!
$600 million are spend on organizations repudiating climate change – a huge reticulation of secret political spending and backroom dealing.
One of them, “Americans for Prosperity”: Under the “fight for freedom” banner it proclaims to protect the American Dream; low taxes, less government regulation and “economic prosperity for all” – Orwellian double speak at its best!
Result: climate change ranks least among the concerns of the U.S. capitalist elite; “trade deficits”, “inflation”, “return on investment” and economic growth” come first.
The government is here to help!
The 2005 Bush administration’s energy bill, instead of tackling greenhouse gas emissions, included massive subsidies and tax breaks for dirty energy. The Koch brothers, betraying their libertarian views, cashed in on government contracts.
A “No Climate Tax Pledge” in 2008 by “Americans for Prosperity” won overwhelming support in the US Congress while at the same time 73 % of Americans supported regulation – 21st century “representative democracy”!
…. and now! Donald Trump! – The worst nightmare for everyone engaged in the fight against climate change!
