The Beekeeper by Chiara Salomoni
The Beekeeper
Can you keep a small secret,
just between you and me?
To be a beekeeper has always been
one of my dreams.
Not one with a mask
and protection, but the special one,
who can speak without saying a word,
the one who knows when it’s time to visit
and when it’s better to leave.
Sometimes I put some honey on a spoon
and tasting it, I close my eyes.
I am there in one of those sunny days
and those black-yellow bodies freely fly
with their furry muzzles buzzing along.
Another secret, I couldn’t do it, I’m scared.
